Meditation: The Magic of the Present Moment
In a world that is becoming faster, more chaotic each day — slowing down may seem crazy but this might just be the answer to everything. Meditation, by its nature, is an expedition to the beauty and tranquility of here-and-now. When we become one with the present moment, our personal path to self discovery and enlightenment manifests before us; a place buried beneath mountains of glass all created by the perverse illusions generated in formed thoughts.
Mediation helps people to develops their resources of mindfulness. Mindfulness is conscious awareness of our own thoughts, feelings and external environment without judgement. Whether it is directing our attention to each inhale and exhale, the feeling in the body or perhaps even sounds we hear present around us. This shift in awareness not only quiets the mind, but it reduces stress and anxiety that are common conditions found within today’s society.
Meditation also helps us be emotionally stronger As we become able to detach from our thoughts and emotions rather than simply be swept away by them, a greater insight here inevitably arises about what makes us tick. This awareness helps us grow firm on the ground and better respond to whatever comes our way, rather than being swept away by impulse. Meditation teaches us how to respect every moment as good, even the little times like feeling the sun on our skin or hearing people laugh.
Meditation also has broader implications beyond one’s individual well-being. Our interactions with others become a ripple effect as we maintain and calibrate to our calm, centered presence. People who meditate daily notice that they change their approach to relationships — with patience, empathy.
In the end, meditation works due to how simple it is. All it Takes is a Willingness to Pause and Be Present; not some elaborate ritual or long, drawn-out commitment. Walking into the new realm of now allows us to enter an adventure that can save our, and anyone else’s life. Well, I say take a step back, breathe and enjoy where you are for fucks sake.
